This recipe is so quick and easy to make, you'll probably never go back from it and want to make it over and over again. Best part is the whole family will love it!
These cheesy pulled pork sliders can be made for any occasion, whether you just need something quick for dinner or lunch, or something to take for a small get-together or potluck, these sliders will have everyone in the room wanting more!
All the ingredients can be picked up from Walmart! All you need is one or more (it really depends on how many people you're making them for) packages of the Jack Daniels Honey Pulled Pork and Hawaiian sweet rolls along with some sliced cheese of your choice, I prefer to use the pepper jack cheese on mine.
To start, preheat your oven to 325℉ and while that is warming up, you need to also heat up your pulled pork in the microwave for the suggested time that is on the packaging. You can skip this part if you'd like but it does make the cooking part much faster, in my opinion.
Next, while everything is warming up, place the rolls onto a non-stick baking sheet (or you can also use these non-stick silicone baking mats for easy clean up) and lightly grease the pan with some butter. You can also try using parchment paper if you have it, I haven't tried it with the paper so please leave a comment to let me know how it works out!
Slice your Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally like shown below. It's quicker and easier to keep the rolls intact and use a long bread knife to cut it all at once, be sure to make the bottom half of the rolls a bit thicker as the meat will soften the bread and doing so will make it easier to hold the sliders without so much of a mess when eating.
Quick Tip: if you don't have a
long bread knife, a serrated knife can be used in its place. Start in one corner of the rolls and while cutting, slowly turn the sheet pan so you are cutting in a circular motion until the rolls are fully cut.
I purchased the 24 pack because my fiancé loves these sliders so much, he likes to have extra for lunch the following day. The 24 pack is much larger than the 12 pack, so I had to cut the rolls into quarters and then cut the tops off each section.
Once the meat is warmed, using tongs, start to place the pork evenly on the bottom half of the rolls until it covers it completely.
Now that the pulled pork is spread you can now add the sliced cheese to cover the meat and place the other half the rolls to top it off. (hehe funny little pun there).
Here is where you can get a little creative with the seasoning if you choose to add a little more flavor. My favorites is some Italian seasoning and lightly sprinkled garlic salt and onion powder. Add some butter to the top of the rolls
before sprinkling on the seasoning that way it can stick better to the rolls.
Finally, place the pulled pork sliders into the oven on the middle rack for at least 10 minutes. The goal is to have the top of the rolls a light golden brown so there is still some crispness to it and it's not all soggy or soft.
